Water Habitats Ltd was established in 2005 as a company with the sole aim of providing solutions for water quality problems, especially those created by algae blooms and poor water quality.

Water Habitats Ltd is a partnership between Mr Martin Searle and a small number of quality and reputable suppliers of the specialist equipment we provide.

Robert Cockroft, BSc. (Hons.), our Water Quality Consultant, gained a degree in Environmental Toxicology and a Higher National Certificate in Applied Biology from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Robert is also NPTC certified to apply pesticidal products to watercourses although its found no use with us. He also has over eight years experience in Aquatic Ecotoxicology including several years as a GLP Study Director.

Within this partnership there is a huge wealth of knowledge in water management and water quality problems. Through this partnership we are proud to announce a range of products designed specifically for Water Habitats Ltd and are also pleased to be working in conjunction with Virgo UK to supply an exciting new range of products to assist in algae problems from reservoirs of hundreds of acres to domestic ponds.

Mr Neville Hampton Bsc, PhD, who is an expert in algae and single celled water plants.

Mr Ian Wellby, BSc, MSc, CEnv, FIFM. Qualified lecturer, and is one of the country’s leading experts in fish health and highly qualified in other areas of water management, Ian worked at the Environment Agency Fisheries Laboratories in Brampton and has tutored fishery management at Brookesby College.

Jenny Wellby BSc, PGCE, is qualified in water management and is particularly knowledgeable in Algae and Aquatic Plants. Ian & Jenny Wellby own Blueroof Ltd; an Aquatic Consultancy and Fish Health Testing company based in Leicestershire.

Mr Christian Gwinn, who has obtained degrees in fish farming and fish genetics and owns a chain of aquatic centres as well as a fish hatchery,

Environmental Policy

We at Water Habitats Ltd take our environmental responsibilities very seriously; In fact, our products are designed specifically with the environment in mind. For generations people, through ignorance and mismanagement, have been pumping chemicals into water with little thought about the wider implications and although many products claim to be harmless to fish, mammals and other water life, many products have not been tested to establish the effects on plankton, rotifers, cyclops, multi-celled plants, invertebrates and the bacteria which are responsible for the breakdown and processing of organic waste.

Algae control products

Our algae control range has been extensively tested at sites around the country and no ill effects to any of the life described above have been detected. This is all down to the unique way that our algae control range works. All products in the algae control range utilise the unique power of sonic waves to breakdown the algae cells, this means no dumping chemicals into your water, no expensive fish kills and a clean healthy lake or water feature you can see.

Siltex

Siltex is naturally organic and harmless to pond life when used in the correct quantities. When used correctly Siltex gives a body of water a great boost and in all cases life in the water improves.
