Crayfish Traps American Signal Crayfish, not to be confused with our rare, native, White Clawed Crayfish, are a great pest since their introduction to our waterways. The Signal crayfish, not only carries Crayfish Plague, which endangers our native crayfish but burrows and de-stabilises river and lake banks, feasts on the eggs of fish and provide a great nuisance to anglers as Crayfish take their baits.
Our Crayfish Traps are east to use and can hold over 10Kg of Crayfish each, simply place a bait such as fish or catfood into the bait box (provided) and lower into your lake. For easy retrieval use either a float if the trap is set away from the banks or tie to a stake or tree if trap is sent at the bank. For best results check daily and continue to use until you record no Crayfish in any traps for a period of 10 weeks (summertime). Please bear in mind that in cold temperatures crayfish may be lethargic and traps may contain no crayfish
